Oil Workers Suspend Strike After Meeting With Alison-Madueke

Finally, a meeting that was convened by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke to mediate between the management of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its striking workers has resulted in the suspension of the 3-days old industrial action embarked upon by the oil workers.

A note on the resolution reached at the meeting with Alison-Madueke, members of NNPC top management and leaders of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) revealed that the strike has been suspended with immediate effect.
The resolution was obtained from the NNPC  Friday in Abuja.
The resolution was signed by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Joseph Dawha for the corporation, Permanent Secretary of the ministry of petroleum resources, Dr. Jamila Shu’ara for the ministry, Igwe Achese for NUPENG and Francis Olabode Johnson for PENGASSAN
